Tutoring students of all ages with special challenges.
It has been said that everyone learns in a unique way. Thankfully, learning disabilities do not carry the stigma they once had, and more and more students are getting tested. Truthfully, they should be called learning differences not learning disabilities, because we find that many students diagnosed with special needs can do just as well—if not better—with the right training and desire!
Nearly one in five students have some type of special needs. In fact, some of the most successful people in the world have had learning disabilities, including Richard Branson, Agatha Christie, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein and Thomas Jefferson, just to name a few. I think we can all agree they did just fine, and with the right training and techniques so can your student!
At Academic Advantage, we incorporate special techniques, patient and experienced instructors and a positive and encouraging atmosphere to help students with special needs achieve optimal results! We also have connections with doctors who do testing and can help provide a diagnosis for an IEP—Individualized Education Plan at school—or for extended-time testing on standardized tests.
